ARTIST'S STATEMENT:
Nature's
shapes, colours, textures and cycles inspire my Pottery. I also love
playing with texture. I'm always experimenting with treasures I've
found, to see what delightful patterns they will create.
I hand build
some of my pieces by shaping slabs or coils of clay. My Potter's
Wheel allows me to shape and spin other creations. I create
functional and sculptural wares as small as Chop Stick Rests and
Earrings, and as large as Wall Torsos and Masks. My Pottery pieces
are then placed in a Smoke Firing Barrel, a Wood Fired Anagama Kiln
or my Digital Electric Kiln to complete their transformation.
Found Denman Beach Glass is fused on a variety of my pieces as well.
I love creating unique Pottery and use a colourful palette of glazes.
